Seminars will be held at 5:55 pm each Thursday. The specific meeting room for each seminar is listed along with the speaker information on the web site and on the paper announcement. Be on time! Changes in topic, location or date will be announced at the previous seminar and posted at the Chem & Biochem Department office, S&T I Room 343, and on the seminar web site: http://chemistry.gmu.edu/seminar/seminar_fall2009.html
All graduate students are expected to attend all seminars, whether registered or not.
CHEM 790/490 is an attendance/participation based course. It is your responsibility to sign the attendance sheet. In addition, you must turn in a hard copy one paragraph summary of each seminar you attend. The hard copy summary is due during the next seminar. It is expected that you will demonstrate your interest in each talk by asking questions. You will receive a “B” if you miss 3 seminars during a semester. You will receive a “C” if you miss 4 seminars. You will receive an “F” if you miss 5 or more seminars.
Students who need to present a seminar as a requirement for the MS or PhD should schedule a date one semester in advance since the schedule fills quickly.
